Carles Jimenez


Dedicated and meticulous music education professional with more than 23 years of expertise and a proven record of accomplishment in class music teaching and departmental management.

Born in Manresa (SPAIN) in 1975, Carles started learning music early in life. In 1985 he was admitted to the Boys' Choir School of Montserrat (Escolania de Montserrat), where he received music theory, solfège, timpani, clarinet and piano lessons.

Carles continued learning the piano at the Conservatori Professional de Música de Manresa, attending masterclasses from Ramon Coll in many instances. 

In 1998 he became an accredited Piano Teacher (DipEd) and in 1999 he obtained the qualification of Music Language & Theory Teacher (DipED).

In 2002 he graduated as a Professor of Solfège, Music Theory, Transposition & Accompaniment from the Conservatori Superior Municipal de Música de Barcelona (BMUS, PGCE).   

In 2004 he was awarded the Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) by the General Teaching Council for England (GTCE)

In addition to his ongoing career as a professional musician, he is a GCE A Level Music AS Level Associate Assessor for the Awarding Body Pearson & Edexcel UK.

  His love of music has led him to work with Antoni Ros Marbà, Xavier Benguerel, Romano Gandolfi, Salvador Brotons, Mireia Pintó, Raquel Pierotti, Victoria de los Angeles, Eduard Gimenez, The Vienna Boys Choir St Michael's Choir School of Toronto, Alison Balsom , Timothy Jones and the London Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet.

He has also performed for HRH Princess Anne of England, the Royal Family of Monaco, HE Mr.Joan Antoni Samaranch - Former President of the International Olympic Committee, HE Mr. Jordi Pujol - Former President of the Autonomic Government of Catalonia and distinguished members of the Catalan Parliament, HE Mr. Kofi Annan - Former UN Secretary-General, HM King Maha Vajiralongkorn and HRH Princess Srirasmi of Thailand -  HE Mr.Thaksin Shinawatra - Former Prime Minister of Thailand, and H.E. Mr. Nelson Mandela - Former President of South Africa.
